Some people don’t have a problem with influence on social media, they just hate the fact that women are the ones holding it.
Influencers aren’t ruining society; they didn’t force you to consume their content. You’re just uncomfortable with women who don’t need your approval to make money or wield power.
One of the most popular influencers, Apoorva Mukhija — better known as The Rebel Kid, built her brand on edgy, unfiltered comedy. She first broke out during the 2020 COVID lockdown, dropping sharp-witted, relatable skits that instantly clicked with Gen Z.
During the filming of a popular YouTube special, she made a crude remark— an “inappropriate comment” that instantly went viral. Outrage exploded, with people tripping over themselves to call it vulgar.
But here’s the irony: Were her comments crude? Absolutely. Was she the only one? No. So why the disproportionate outrage aimed solely at her?
Male YouTubers are crowned ‘entrepreneurs’ even when they swim in questionable content. But god forbid a woman makes one wrong move and suddenly, she’s a threat to decency.
