Outside The Fake Illusion
Tired of empty promises and miracle advice? Here’s how I turned my irritation into inspiration – and why it might help you too.
Ever felt like you’re drowning in articles that promise everything and deliver nothing? I know the feeling.
Let’s talk about how I decided to stop chasing illusions and start creating something real instead.
How many times have we come across articles promising miraculous advice… only to discover they’re nothing but nonsense?
Every time, I feel angry. I often leave a comment to vent my frustration – only to realize I’m boosting the visibility of the very snake oil sellers I can’t stand.
So, I’ve decided to stop chasing illusions and start doing something of my own.
Maybe my experience can help you, too.
I asked myself: What am I actually good at?
The answer didn’t come right away. I felt empty. Then a simple thought popped up: I’m a mom.
An older mom, sure – which sometimes makes me feel out of touch with the younger generation. But I do have a lot of experience, and maybe that’s actually a strength.
That’s how the idea was born: to start a Substack.
A space where I could share my view on parenting with a touch of humor and lightness.
I called it Autenticamente Imperfetta, I write in Italian. I invented this title because I believe in the importance of being a reliable parent, without pretending to be perfect (which no one is, especially when it comes to motherhood).
I don’t know if it’ll work.
But I’m giving it a shot. And maybe, just maybe, something will happen.
Why am I telling you all this?
Because sometimes the answer is right in front of us – but we’re too busy chasing those who promise fireworks and only deliver illusions.
Tired of smoke-sellers too? Leave a comment, share your story, or just say “me too” – misery loves company, but action loves company even more.
