Facts do not have emotions. So it cannot connect with the readers.

Stories have a magical power to weave into the readers’ emotions and connect the content with them.

Below are three simple storytelling frameworks you can include in your content.

1. The Hero’s Journey (simplified)

The main character starts the journey as a fool, struggles to achieve his goal, and finally achieves it.

For example, when I started writing, I had no idea about it. I struggled to write daily. Slowly, I learned a few writing techniques and write consistently without feeling burned out.

Takeaways :

  • Narrate the journey from the ideation, different struggles, and finally the success
  • Explain how you felt during different phases of the journey

Before-After-Bridge (BAB)

Show the transformation of any lifestyle change or any habit.

For example, you want to share the benefits of outlining the content before writing. So, first, tell how you struggled when you did not outline.

  • There was no clarity of thoughts
  • You did not understand the flow of the content
  • You struggled to find what to write in the next section

Next, explain how outlining transformed your writing journey.

  • You have a complete road map of the content before writing the whole piece
  • You have a flow of thoughts

Show a before and after image of any topic that you write.

Takeaway:

  • Show the transformation of building a habit instead of jumping to the success story.

Problem-Agitate-Solve (PAS)

Your content promotes a product( free/paid) or at least mentions anything you believe and have benefitted from.

Instead of directly writing about the solution, explain what challenges prompted you to ideate the solution.

Takeaway:

  • Write about the challenges that prompted you to create the product or initiate a lifestyle change.

These simple frameworks easily create a story in the content. Do you want to know more about storytelling?
