I Worked 7 Jobs by 23 Years Old | How That’s Possible
A series of unfortunate and fortunate events
Five years ago, I entered the job market without a mouthguard or a pair of boxing gloves. Since then, my resume has been through the wringer, and so have I.
I was always book smart but not even my AP stats textbook could shield me from the fist of the workforce. Yet, somehow, by job number 7, I came out on top. Read to see how I conquered.
1. Dominos Pizza
COVID hit during my last semester of high school. Suddenly, all my high school clubs, extracurriculars, and senior events melted away. I had a lot of free time as I quickly finished online assignments.
I wanted to fill my free time and earn money. My cousin who worked at Dominos Pizza got me a job there.
The work environment was overstimulating. There was the sound of folding pizza boxes, phones ringing, utensils scraping, and the order screen beeping.
However, I made some friends there. That made it easier. Our laughter was my favorite sound. The pizza shop was a fast-paced environment that got exceptionally busy on the weekends. There were often 100 pizzas in the queue at a time.
