The “Success” No One Claps For (5 Years Post-Grad Review)
But I wouldn’t Trade It
The other day, my husband and I were having breakfast while our 10-month-old played with his toys nearby. For the first time, he called out “Dada”. My husband couldn’t help but smile, and then he posed a question:
“I wonder how I lived before the baby.”
“This is my biggest achievement in life,” I muttered with a grin.
We both laughed, but then he asked more seriously, “No really, what do you consider your biggest achievement so far?”
Without hesitation, I answered, “Motherhood.”
And even now, after reflecting on my five years post-graduation, my answer remains the same.
Why Motherhood Is My Greatest Achievement
Before becoming a mother, life was simple: work, pay bills, have fun. Occasionally, I saved some money, but I hadn’t really thought about financial literacy. I had a good job, lived in a comfortable condo, and was still young. I never imagined life would change — or that it could.
Fast forward four years, I got pregnant with my son. My husband and I were thrilled, and we had everything ready for the baby. When our son was born, everything changed.
