Let’s get one thing straight: I’m grateful for my benefits. Social Security and my federal retirement help keep the lights on, meds in the cabinet, and snacks in the drawer (you know I need my snacks). But deep down, I know it’s not enough.

I’ve still got dreams. I’ve still got bills. And I’ve still got a whole lot of life left to live.

That’s why I’m building a backup plan.
