A talk between a transgender psychologist and Jessie McGrath: Religion, family and working — Part 1
My name is Kira, and I’m a trans woman and counselor specializing in transgender care. Recently, I launched a project where I interview professionals working with the trans community and its members worldwide. My goal is to highlight diversity, raise awareness, and educate society about transgender people. I’ll be sharing text versions of these interviews on Medium.
This is the first part of my interview with Jessie McGrath, a transgender woman, a lawyer licensed to argue before the US Supreme Court. She has been working in the legal field for over 27 years and started her transition 10 years ago at the age of 53, while having a family and successful career. I want to emphasize that Jessie’s views are her personal opinions, and I may not always share them. However, I strongly believe that open discussions are essential for finding common ground.
