I’m a trans woman and counselor specializing in transgender care. Recently, I launched a project where I interview professionals working with the trans community and its members worldwide.
This is the second part of my interview with Dr. Lea, a transgender woman from Sweden. I want to emphasize that Dr. Lea’s views are her personal opinions, and I may not always share them. However, I strongly believe that open discussions are essential for finding common ground.

Kira: Recently, I received a comment under one of my posts that I have the privilege of passing. Do you agree that passing is a privilege rather than the result of hard work?
Lea: There is nothing in my appearance that I didn’t work on. The word “privilege” comes from lazy people. Transitioning is a process. Transitioning is a project you must plan. You must have a goal.
