As you know, the recent situation and multiple layoffs in the industry made the whole industry much more competitive. What is more, a huge push from social media into the Software Engineering professions, as well as companies teaching people to switch jobs to IT, make the whole industry much more competitive than it was before.
Having almost a decade of experience in the IT industry, working mostly on backend applications written in different programming languages like Kotlin and Java, including most popular public clouds like AWS with other tools like Terraform and having 2 AWS Certifications (for more details please check out about me) I had the opportunity to look for a new position in those fields — which as you can imagine are one of the most popular in the industry. Knowing the past, I thought that it would be much easier knowing my skills and experiences, however, the reality struck me.
What was the trend in the IT market?
Two years ago my inbox on Linkedin each week was full with messages from recruiters. I got multiple offers during the week, sometimes even per day around at least 10 different offers from recruiters in the past.
