Gonna share one simple strategy that will help you get control of your anxiety.
Here goes …
When you feel anxiety hit, take a few minutes to get your negative thoughts out of your head and onto paper.
When those thoughts are in your head, you ruminate on them.
You can’t let them go.
They control you.
Write them down, and you take the first step toward controlling them.
How do I know?
I fight this constant battle, but when I remember and implement this strategy, things immediately get better.
For example:
The other night, I was tossing and turning in bed and could not fall back to sleep. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 2:03 a.m. I thought, “I might as well get up because more sleep is simply not an option.”
I can feel that I am stressed and anxious, but I don’t know why.
Then I realize that it is near the end of the semester: my grades are due, my seniors don’t care about school anymore, I am trying to take on new projects, and there have not been many days off during this stretch…
