Witness Their Wonder
A three-child symphony of ‘Can you see me?’
Look at Me, Mom!
I built a castle out of Grimms blocks,
Look at Me, Mom,
My girl is grinning wild,
How I spin, my pirouette so fine,
“Look at me, Mom!”
And so the chorus begins,
My three kids want me to see
them, being real and active,
building their selves in this reality.
With wide eyes and hearts,
My kids want to be seen,
They ask for it and even scream
*eyeroll*
They don’t want just praise,
But something deeper,
Do you know what I mean?
They build Lego masterpieces?
Glide down playground slides,
Being in the moment with them makes them feel alive
And sometimes make me become wild.
“Can you see me?” they ask with joy,
It’s not their vanity, it’s way more deep
These kids want to build their world with me.
