The Tides of Bliss

A picture taken by the author in Mulki, a small town in Karnataka (India)

Walk on the sand,
Pick up a few shells,
Hear the waves,
Soak in the sun.

Write your name, watch it fade with the tide.
Step into the water & close your eyes.
Feel the salty breeze against your skin,
And see the horizon where the earth and sky meet.

In that vastness, those waves, those breezes—
For a moment, the world falls away.

And this moment, here,
Is yours to keep or let drift.

For what you hold, what you release—
All is carried by the tides of bliss.

In the endless cycle of becoming and unbecoming,
It is only you who can find your peace.

I find the sea rejuvenating, and my recent visit to the coastal town of Mulki was no different. This poem is inspired by that experience.

I found this poem by

very touching. She has deeply captured the essence of human grief in this.
