In the grand scheme of things, my synchronicity story is pretty worthless. It is weird, though. And that’s what’s important.

Before I had my current pet pig, Hank, I had a pure-bred Vietnamese Pot-bellied Pig named Chloe. I got her in 1992, only three years after the first group of breeding pairs were brought from Vietnam in 1989. At the time, it was very unusual to have a pet pig.

Chloe was ornery and ridiculously smart. She was a serious pain in the ass but I loved her to pieces.

I’ve never watched much TV. Back in the 90s when this story takes place, I wasn’t interested enough to pay for cable, so I only had the network channels. If I wanted to watch something, I often put on PBS, the Public Broadcast System.

For those who don’t know, this is a publicly funded channel in the U.S., which shows mostly educational programs and British content from the BBC. Thanks to PBS, Americans got their first taste of shows like Monty Python and Doctor Who.
