Flower Power
Petals from my travels
I love taking photos of plants. It is by no means my favourite thing to photograph, but I definitely do it more than I realised. Now, I am no botanist, so if you’re looking for identifications of plants and their Latin names, you have come to the wrong article. Let me be honest, I’m probably going to call them all “red flowery thingy”.
But, I love the way plants and flowers uniquely characterise the country they blossom in. Scrolling through my phone gallery app, I definitely saw some similarities between the warmer countries I have recently visited, and the more northern Estonia, where I’m from, and Scotland, my home for the past 15 years.
I’m sure there’s some sort of an explanation to it, and feel free to educate me in the comments, but the more south I travel, for example in Agadir, Morocco, or Greece, flowers are often pink, bright, cheerful.
I mean, flowers should be cheerful anyway, but they somehow look more vibrant, having the luxury of the sun warm their little petals.
