A Mountain Poem

--

Image edited in Canva by Michael Ak

Ice cracks and glaciers melt,

the wind whistles on the mountain.

The breeze picks up and the clouds float near,

a hiker chips away at the ice.

The sound breaks the silence,

small rocks and fissures are created.

Cold land and the earth is bleak,

a hare prances in the snow.

Water drips from the peaks,

a lonely vista.

An image frozen in time,

the seasons will pass.

The weather will change,

Rocks will erode.

Ice will break,

but the mountains will remain.
