How Moving to Argentina Saved Our Cat

--

An unexpected, but fortunate, turn of events

When we moved to Argentina, I did not think it would save our cat’s life.

For more than a year, our blended family meticulously prepared for the move, navigating the various layers and intricacies of relocating on such a large scale.

We couldn’t embark on this international journey without bringing our entire family along. I’m grateful we were privileged to do this. I know many cannot.

We attended numerous vet appointments to ensure vaccines and paperwork were current and accurate. All of our animals were given a good bill of health, and we were on our way! (it was much more complicated than that though, trust me!)

All of them transitioned well and are loving our new apartment and city!

We didn’t discover the tumor on Kennedy’s leg until two months later.

Navigating any medical situation in a foreign language, or a new culture, is daunting. It’s even scarier when the patient you’re trying to support can’t speak or consent.

We all felt guilty for missing the tumor. It was so big by the time we noticed.

How could we not notice a golfball growing on her leg? How long has it been there? Did the vet see something and not say anything…
