I’m beginning to get a small taste of what it’s like to be working in the field of climate change. As I do the publicity circuit for my book, again and again, I see the same appalled expression register on my interviewer’s face as they take in my main message.
The latest interview was with for her podcast . Once again I explained why grocery prices are going to . Chemaine frowned saying that she had been holding out, waiting for food prices to come back down again. I think many of us are. We’re feeling the pinch at the checkout already but just holding on, telling ourselves things will soon return to ‘normal’.
My message is this — not likely.
Unfortunately, while where they are for a while, both indicate food prices, especially on , will continue to increase over this decade and beyond.
The good news is that healthy eating is still affordable even on the lowest incomes although the predictions on fresh produce require a radically different approach. Many of us will be familiar with the idea of putting together shopping lists, planning and meal prepping for the week…
