A Thirst for Love

Last Things

Last things you thought you knew about loving someone like this,
Tough strung as an old guitar would let you become
Until love touches the strings of a heart gone into the mountains of pain.

By West Pass Mountains the valley was green with the seasons new growth. The thrushes were warbling their songs and calling every morning. Jenna remembered the previous year like a thorny overgrowth. It felt less sore than the broken love she suffered with.

Dr. Harcroft said she’ be over the feelings gradually like a headache but she thought differently. Nathan was supposed to be her one and only forever love. He seemed sincere in the early days. Now the days are numb and the mountains glaring at her for being such a wretched soul.

He left without one single word.
