CREATIVE MANIFESTATION

The Power of Prayer

The Namaste hands that show up in my artwork

I am not a religious person. I do not believe in dogma or ritualistic practices to center myself in spirituality.

But when I feel helpless, I pray.

When I am scared, I seek grace.

I ask for mercy from the universe when all doors appear to shut in my face.

I am hesitant to ask for help from people, not knowing if my plea would be answered. But I rarely stall in seeking a solution from the creative source, the higher power, or any label we would put on that energy.

Bringing my folded hands together at my heart helps calm it down.

Joining the two sides together, with the thousands of nerves in my hands humming in union, creates balance in my being.

That prayer, unbeknownst to me, also shows up in my artwork.

It is as though the emotional turmoil I find myself in manifests on the paper as a plea, timestamped for that date and year.
