The Blast — Short Story
Flash Fiction
Lydia crashed to the floor.
The blast had sent her hurtling back into the room.
She wasn’t sure what her body had connected with, but it had certainly taken the wind out of her.
She tried to move, but something was holding her down.
Calmly, she felt around with her fingers and realised that a plank of some kind was pressing down against her leg.
She could hear shouting in the distance.
She needed to get out of here.
She needed to hide.
How did it go wrong?
The blast was only supposed to remove the hinges on the office door.
Lydia was suddenly very scared.
About These Stories
The story above is part of a collection of short fiction pieces I’ll be posting here on Medium. Once I’ve got them all up, I’m planning to pull them together into a paperback book for people who prefer a physical copy.
When the paperback’s ready, I’ll definitely make a post to let you know where you can grab a copy if you’re interested.
I’m really excited (and a little nervous) about putting this project out there. Thanks so much for reading…
