Moving to Savannah: The Journey So Far
From a small town to a big city: How did I get here?
Sitting on the bed in our motel room this morning trying to decide what to write for this Medium post, it hit me. I had just taken a sip of my coffee, looked from the bed to the kitchen, which you can see clearly in this small room, when inspiration struck.
Well, maybe not inspiration, but an idea. Moving to Savannah, GA was a huge step for me. This was a decision that came after a few wrong decisions and more than a few tragedies in my life. So, why not write about it?
While most readers might not be interested in my journey from a small town in South Carolina to a big city in Georgia, writing about it will help me cope with losses that happened over twenty years ago, and culminated in me living here.
Over my next several posts, I'm going to detail that journey as much as I can, and in the meantime write about and get to know the city I find myself in, and have quickly grown to love.
I started life in a small town in South Carolina. Many may have heard of Sumter, and today it is more of a city, but when I was growing up there it was small. I lived in the same house from birth until I graduated high school and moved away.
