I liken couples counseling to an oil change: be sure to get it taken care of at least every 6 months/5,000 miles to keep your vehicle running smoothly and mitigate major issues down the line.

One of the most informative parts of our presentation: a multi-dimensional graph of neurodivergence. I explain it in at the 1hr 17 min mark.

Following up on part 1 about the announcement for the Atlanta Autism Consortium/Emory University event in Neurodivergent Couples Counseling, I wanted to speak about the experience of participating as a panelist and share the long-awaited video.

First, key points; afterwards, the video.

  1. Edifying. The speakers provided a fascinating (and I will admit long) background on what neurodivergence looks like, with the goal of explaining to friends and family. Very comprehensive!
  2. Powerful. My wife and I were honored to be asked to speak as panelists. We gave it a lot of thought — and it showed (toot toot here comes the thoughtful train!).
  3. Adult(ing). Neurodivergence and autism in particular tend to be framed as a childhood “disease” (try Google Images for “autism”). Neurodivergent adults are obscured in society. And yet rarer is counseling focused
