FUN FACTS/SEED SWAP DAY
Have You Heard Of Seed Swap Day?
Seed Swap Day is a fun and eco-friendly way for gardeners to share seeds
Today, being the last Saturday in January, is therefore National Seed Swap Day.
If you already are a gardener you might already have come across this.
If so, how will you be celebrating today?
Are you holding a seed swap event of your own?
It is a simple way to mark today.
During the year, save and dry seeds from the plants in your garden, flowers and vegetables.
Then on this day met up with other gardeners who have done the same.
It is a very eco friendly and inexpensive way to expand the variety of plants in your garden.
It is easy to collect your own seeds to grow.
If you like tomatoes you can take the seeds from a couple and lay them out on a tissue to dry.
You can then simply plant the seeds, each seed has the potential to become a new tomato plant, covered with fresh juicy tomatoes.
You can also use these seeds to swap with other gardeners.
