His Mother’s Wrath Ended Our Friendship Forever
It left me in a daze and without closure
I joined a new school in sixth grade when we moved into the house my parents had purchased.
I was concerned about making new friends. I had some great friends before and was disappointed to leave them behind and start the process of building friendships all over again. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for me to meet Varun, who quickly became my first friend at the new school.
Varun and I hit it off right away. We didn’t have much in common, but this hardly mattered to sixth-graders. We forged a strong bond and genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. He often came to my house after school, and we had a great time playing together outside of school as well. My mother liked Varun and always offered him delicious snacks when he visited. Everything seemed perfect.
It was always Varun who came to my house to play; I never went to his house. I didn’t think much of it; I was simply happy to spend time with him and play together.
One day, I decided to visit his house. It was just a five-minute walk from mine, and after informing my mother, Varun and I walked there together.
