You Cannot Rid Yourself of Your Demons Until You Name Them
How can you know which ones are affecting you?
I worked in a Freedom Ministry that helped wounded, tormented, and spiritually oppressed individuals find freedom, help, and restoration through the power of Jesus Christ. Don’t stop reading because I wrote that name. I acknowledge that spiritual healing comes in many forms. My background is in Christianity, so I begin with it. This spiritual work gently and lovingly led people through prayer to confront their demons.
This was not a psychological or medical healing ministry. We strongly believe in the appropriate application of medicine and medications. We did not reject psychological therapies as a treatment. Our clients might feel relief in mental and physical areas when spiritual cleansing, healing, or freedom is achieved. Such freedom does not supersede or negate medical or psychological treatment. One treatment or therapy is not more important than another. They all work in tandem with each other.
You should never stop medical or psychological treatment just because you are pursuing a spiritual path. Likewise, combining medical and psychological treatments with spiritual ones is more effective in gaining a fuller healing experience. They do not negate each other; they complement each other.
