Dark Matter and Energy, the “Glue” That Holds Things Together, Is God’s Grace
Somewhere along the line, God’s Spirit, moving in and around me, was taught out of me
There came a time in my theological studies and spiritual growth when God’s influence needed to become real. I had felt it often as a child, which I believe we all do. Somewhere along the line, God’s Spirit, moving in and around me, was taught out of me.
I’m not blaming anyone or anything. It is a growth concept we all must deal with. Two or more things can be true at the same time. While we may have to put one concept down while we learn another, we must return and be able to pick up and continue to explore the former idea from where we were previously.
My scientific and mathematical education taught me that some stories or scriptures were untrue and could not have happened. God became less real to me, less someone with whom I could interact. The concepts of Grace and Love remained but as transactional experiences.
Later, as I headed to seminary, a well-meaning mentor told me, “Get ready to lie.” What he meant by that was that the mythos and stories that moved me as a child were about to be deconstructed and picked apart by more academic study. My academic study meant finding or experiencing the…
