I Walked The Dog For A Few Days
And it changed my life in an unexpected way
Spoiler Alert — I don’t have a dog!
However, my best friend owns one — a cute Beagle.
It was a cool morning, not the shivering type, but a pleasant one. Like many other days, I was busy preparing a big meal for my family when the doorbell rang. I thought it might be the Amazon order, but to my surprise, it was my bestie.
Over a cup of hot coffee, we began our girlie gossip. I learned that her parents weren’t keeping well, and she would be visiting them the next week.
“Well, can you take care of Jimmy, please? He is a nice boy. Who gives their children to foster care when they have a family?” she said jokingly, expressing her unwillingness to keep the dog in Dog Care.
I had mixed feelings, as I never parented a dog before, but this one was hard to miss. After all, this was an opportunity to keep Jimmy with me longer, wasn’t it?
She briefed me a little on his habits, likes, and dislikes and we finalized the handover.
For the first time, I felt like a parent.
