Prompt #4

3 min readApr 21, 2025

--

Sometimes, a single image can stir something deep within us — a whisper of a story, a flicker of a feeling, a memory we didn’t know we were holding which then rises to the surface.

This month’s Pier 21 Prompt is an invitation to pause and look closely.

Below are four photographs, each waiting to become more than just a captured moment. Let one speak to you. Let it unravel into a poem, a piece of fiction, or a personal reflection.

Follow the light, the shadows, the colors. Listen for the quiet tale it’s telling you.

Then, write it into being.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so feel free to aim anywhere up to that mark! We can’t wait to see where the image takes you.

Please be sure to feature the photo you choose and credit the photographer. You may of course include additional photos in your story if you like.
