DayDream
Where Imagination Meets Possibility.
I stood on that big stage, my heart swelling with pride as everyone clapped and screamed. I had just launched my television station. I was feeling on top of the world.
But as I looked at the sea of faces, I heard someone call my name and the cheers faded. Suddenly, I was back in my bedroom, surrounded by the familiar walls and the noise of my kids. What a reality!
The contrast stung but it got me thinking: what if these daydreams weren’t just a mere fantasies but glimpses of what’s possible?
Despite been seen as a mind-wandering activity, what if it’s a push for sparking creativity and great innovation?
Finding Solace in Daydreaming
When I was growing up, I found solace in daydreaming whenever I was alone or listening to any of my favourite music. I would imagine ideal futures, creating beautiful scenarios that felt almost real and I would also imagine solutions to problems. Most of these pictures I create usually stem from what I desire.
At first, I didn’t understand what it all meant. I just found it as an escape away from my realities. I used to daydream about publishing a book as a child-writer and not too long after, it happened. I had my first book published at 16.
