What My Failed Etsy Shop Taught Me About Success as a SAHM
Because motherhood calls us to redefine more than “just” our identity
Christina — that was her name.
She claimed she was making $4,000 a month selling printables on Etsy, having started as a complete newbie just a few months prior. She had a free email sequence promising to walk me step by step through setting up my own passive income shop in just one week.
Why not? It seemed safer than copy trading and easier than selling essential oils.
So I signed up.
Her emails were packed with affiliate links, but they were also genuinely helpful. Within a week, my shop was up and running, stocked with digital downloads I had created using her templates.
“It’s a numbers game,” she said.
Of course, no one in their right mind would expect to make $4,000 a month with ten printables priced at $1.50 each, I thought.
Her strategy was clear: create a product, build variations, bundle them together, and SEO the hell out of everything.
Okay, easy enough.
The faster I built my shop, the sooner I’d see results. Or so I thought.
