What Men Don’t Understand About Women and Sexual Harassment
Four beliefs they need to do away with
It’s been many months now since this happened, when I stumbled across a about the former governor of New York. If you’re not familiar with the case then let me summarize.
Mr. Cuomo aligned himself with the #Metoo movement, and signed bills into law promising to help women like lengthening the statute of limitations for rape as well as making it easier for New Yorkers to bring forth sexual harassment claims, all the while harassing women who worked with him as early as the next day after signing the bill.
While working on the legislations, he worked with the Time’s Up organization’s leaders like Tina Tchen its chief executive and Roberta Kaplan, its chairwoman and co-founder of its legal defense fund.
In expressing her dismay over the governor’s public display of solidarity while privately making inappropriate advances, Christine Quinn, a past speaker of the New York City Council and former Cuomo supporter asked, “Was it all a show?”
