If There Were One Thing I Could Tell My Past Self It Would Be This
Marriages can end but blood relations don’t
There was cheerfulness, laughter, beautiful memories, and a sudden disaster — as if a timeless bomb had just blasted into the courtyard, creating a deafening sound that seemed to hit me from behind.
My knees grew weak, I do not know what happened next and I woke up to cries, fights, and violent outbursts. Everything changed.
In a moment.
Or maybe it was just me who thought it was a moment, perhaps it was heating up for years only to burst when it was the right time(actually wrong, worst in fact).
Her blank face, hollow eyes, bare hands and feats, with no sign of her married life were disturbing. I was not too old to know what was going on, but it crept inside me slowly and became so deep that I forgot to differentiate myself from my pain.
The slow wounds
When my father announced his affair it was heartbreaking. First I thought it was a joke. Mom too thought the same. He might be talking to some random woman, but it can never be more. There is no way he would leave us for someone else.
