Most people on the political left, myself included, have struggled to understand why otherwise normal people so easily and adamantly embrace Trumpism. I listen to them make their arguments about why they support Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, and it never seems to matter what contradictions or falsehoods are presented to them. Their support remains unwavering.

Still, the question remains. How is it these people can defend the MAGA agenda when the contradictions and falsehoods are so out in the open and easily recognized by everyone else? How can they sit there in the face of overwhelming evidence and claim the contrary? How can they seemingly feel no empathy, no remorse, and no guilt about anything?

The answer to this is fairly simple. To these people, the Machiavellian idea that the end justifies the means explains their entire modus operandi. But what exactly is their endgame? What is it these people want? That depends on which group of Trump supporters we are talking about.
