Sending mail has become a challenge

I came home from work one night last week and noticed the lid to my new mailbox was left open. The flag was still up as well. I chalked it up to my mail carrier being lazy.

I got out of my car and decided to take a photo of my mailbox to post it on social media to voice my frustration. I know it sounds like a petty thing to do, but I’ve had an ongoing dispute with my mail carrier. I sell things on eBay and do a lot of shipping. The United States Postal Service offers porch pickup for packages, which is great for someone like me.

USPS is a struggling business.

I know the post office is struggling. They are constantly seeking to hire people. I know because I worked there for two weeks. It was pure hell. I can see why they can’t retain employees.

Every worst possible work-related scenario happens there. They post your schedule every Thursday and it changes week to week so you can’t make any plans because you never know your work schedule far enough in advance.

You have to work swing shifts, meaning one day you might start work at 6 a.m. and the next day, you might start work at 2:30 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. You have to work weekends and…
