As a retired person in my early 70s, life is much shorter on this end of the timeline. Like many seniors, watching our country being destroyed in the final years of our lives is incomprehensible. Most of us were raised by parents who fought in World War II, had grandparents who survived the Great Depression.

We are appalled at those who are walking away from our democracy. Those who think a convicted criminal and sex offender with no moral compass is a ‘great man.’ And the saddest thing of all is many of those walking away are family or friends. You can give them whatever excuses you want, I am not so generous. The truth, backed by facts has always been available to everyone.

The power grab by the oligarchs, led by Elon Musk and sanctioned by republicans, to take over all benefits for themselves is bulldozing all norms. The oligarchs are dividing up the world so only THEY survive the existential threat of climate change as it accelerates. After all the rest of us have no value other than making them money.
