Not All 24-Hour Days Are Equal
We all have different days
“We all have the same 24 hours per day.”
This is usually said by someone who does not take care of the day in, day out routines of life. Maybe it’s a man whose wife keeps the household running (even if she works just as many hours at her career as he does at his).
Or maybe it’s someone wealthy enough to hire someone to perform household chores.
You don’t think Jeff Bezos ever wakes up in the morning and says, “Oh, shit. I forgot to do laundry and now I’m out of socks,” do you?
Mark Zuckerberg certainly does not have to get up early on Saturday morning to mow his lawn or tinker with the broken ice maker on his fridge.
Hell, no. If you have Big Accomplishments, all your waking hours are available for you to devote to a different kind of work.
Thankless chores are actually important.
Somebody has to devote a lot of time to doing all kinds of routine things: Buying groceries, planning and cooking meals, keeping track of when it’s time to change the furnace filter, routine housekeeping and laundry and yard work and all the rest can’t be left undone.
