It’s All or Nothing on Medium Now

I’m unsure of the best path forward

Some Medium writers are so good that I go to their profile page every few days to make sure I don’t miss one word of their wisdom. That’s how much I value their work.

I know there are a few readers who do the same for me.

I can count on certain readers making a comment within hours, usually, of my latest piece hitting the platform. That means a lot to me.

I really put my heart and soul into providing the most thoughtful and high-quality writing I can, and it’s gratifying when someone appreciates it.

Since February 2022, I’ve posted almost 500 pieces here.

In that time I’ve ridden out a couple of bumpy algorithm changes, and we’re in the midst of another one.

It’s early days, but it appears this new algorithm works a bit like the U.S. economy: a nation of clear winners and losers with very few in the middle.

You will do very, very well if you get Boosts. You will be invisible if you do not.

This poses a problem for people like me, whose stories don’t always fit well into any one publication.
