I Dated Three Guys in a Row with the Same First Name

Ben must be a common name because I dated three of them in a row.

The first relationship was short-lived, and since he broke it off with me, I made sure to text him and let him know when I was happy with someone else. I told him they shared the same first name.

He said, “You can’t go wrong with a Ben.”

Apparently, he was right because I ended up marrying the third Ben I dated.

Ben No. 2

The second Ben relationship lasted for seven years. We had a blast together.

I had actually dated this Ben over the summer when I was 17. He was a tall, lanky skater punk who had his ear pierced and long bangs. He smoked weed and had great taste in music. Unfortunately, he was the insecure jealous type and he had a temper.

He introduced me to one of his best friends, John. From that moment on, Ben kept accusing me of liking John. He harped about it so much that I accidentally called him John once because the name was stuck in my brain. Ben freaked out and started throwing stuff across his bedroom.
