A Simple Diet That’s Easy to Remember and Actually Works

When people start telling me about their “miracle” weight-loss programs my eyes tend to gloss over.

“Every morning I wake up and throw a handful of chickpeas into my mouth. On the 20th chew, I have half a teaspoon of pineapple juice. Then I lick a raisin, but I DON’T EAT IT! That’s critical. After that…”

These diets are like following the instructions for those massive LEGO kits only rich people can afford.

Who has time to stop and think when you’re hungry? Some people walk around with a checklist:

  • I can’t eat bread
  • I can’t eat sugar
  • I can’t eat meat
  • I can’t eat yogurt
  • I can’t eat dairy
  • Absolutely no alcohol!

I despise diets that put things in terms of ingredients. “Don’t eat any processed sugar!” Well, what does that even mean? You end up going on ingredient scavenger hunts.
