Would You Rather Let Others Dim Your Passion?
Prioritize and embrace your passion.
Passion and priorities are key elements of our exploits in life. If we desire to achieve great things in life and live a more fulfilled life, then we must identify and embrace our passions as well and set our priorities right.
Passion and priorities must be deployed for a desired result. According to best-selling author, John C. Maxwell, people who have passion but lack priorities are like individuals who find themselves in a lonely log cabin deep in the woods on a cold snowy night and then light a bunch of small candles and place them all around the room.
In the light of Maxwell’s illustration, people who have passion but lack priorities don’t have enough light to help them see, nor do they have enough heat to keep them warm, they just manage to be cheerful.
People who possess priorities but lack passion are like those who stack wood in the fireplace of that same cold cabin but never light the fire.
People who have both passion and priorities are like those who stack the wood, light the fire and enjoy the light and the heat that it produces. Until we match our passions with priorities, we are not likely to achieve our goals.
