Imagine you started working with someone new to the job. This person sends you an email asking for your help. In the email, there are at least three grammar mistakes and two spelling errors.

What’s your first impression of this person?

Now imagine a close friend or family member did the exact same thing.

What do you think now?

If you’re like me, sending messages to friends and family can have typos. Heck, leave out punctuation too. Even top it off with too many emojis if you want to.🥰😍💕

But on the flip side, your co-workers and boss might perceive you as someone who needs to update their language skills.

Are you a professional?

When sending a professional email or text message, you want to keep it as such.

Too many errors and your message looks unprofessional. Plain and simple.

One typo is no biggie. The same thing goes for a missing comma or typing a period when you should have typed a question mark.
