A Great Way to Improve Without Relying on Stats!
Medium has been an amazing platform for my needs so far. It’s not just a space for posting work but a community where I can explore my interests and refine my writing. Each day, I come across insightful posts on philosophy, culture, and creativity. But one unintended effect has emerged from all this reading: I’ve started noticing things about my own work, both strengths and flaws.
It began with small realizations — like noticing an interesting introduction or seeing how sharing book reviews can spark engagement. Slowly, I found myself rating my writing against these observations. Now, after I post, I do not keep checking the stats like a manic. I compare it with the work of other writers and see where I might improve.
But there’s only so much that general observations can offer. I wanted a more concrete way to assess my content’s quality, a sort of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) for my own writing. Stats, while helpful, don’t always tell the full story. For instance, if most of my followers are drawn to inspirational stories, they may skip a finance-related post, not because it’s bad but simply because it’s not interesting for them.
