Idolized insensitivity,
reminder: it’s cool
to break anything,
especially a person,
don’t dare caring like a fool,
just sew all your little patches
of humanity together,
make a quilt, and burn it
with the thought of forever;
grab a knife, carve out your eyes
they won’t see guns, blood, fire,
you’d feel nothing but ice;
make your ears bleed,
so they would hear no screams;
take your heart out,
replace it with a pendulum
to imitate a heartbeat for attention;
then tie yourself up by the neck,
stay silent when being loud would help,
scream only for a paycheck,
and then silence again when
someone else wakes up dead.
