It Isn’t Yours To Take
A Poem About Anger
1 min readNov 5, 2019
It’s an explosion in my ribcage;
Pain so intense it’s too hard to breathe.
Claws that trip over ribs with heat;
Sink into the heart with poison.
Black smoke churned from an abyss;
Words of silvered blades from a biting tongue.
Teeth bared, flashing bright;
Wet like wolves’ teeth with their prey.
No looking back, headfirst into the rage;
Release the tight line defense against the wildfire inside.
Move slow, but no deliberation;
Ruination in the aftermath.
