Descartes Did Not Separate Thought from Reality
An Old Lie by Evil People
Here is a video which deserves a comment, because it pretends to tell the truth about Descartes’ writings and what he believed:
Another case which lies about Descartes’ writings and his beliefs. You need only read his Method to see that he did not believe in a homunculus, a separation of the physical brain and thought.
What he wrote was that reality can only be known by agreement in thought between people which can only be certain if two or more people can directly observe or directly deduce from their observations the same conclusions.
This is the reason he is known as the founder of modern science where replication is the basis for all the truth we can know. Or as noted by historians, The Father of the Age of Reason. But reason continues to escape those who do not read and educate themselves about the observations of others.
Sadly, philosophers got bound up in naive claims.
