The Unconscious Merger: Man and Machine
Today when I woke up, the first thing I did without thinking was take my phone and open two apps, Instagram and LinkedIn, even though I received no notifications from them. The last thing I did before going to bed was the same. Before posting on LinkedIn I go to ChatGPT, ask it to type a post that will get me the most engagement on whatever content I’m advertising as a ‘thought leader’. Why? Because as people have advised me time and again, I am the brand. Whether I work for a corporation or freelance, if I’m in sales it doesn’t really matter. Before I joined medium last month, all I was using was ChatGPT to engineer content, for my job, for my personal blog, it wasn't until one of my coworkers disappointedly told me one day, “you keep doing this and just waste your life…”. It hit me then, I used to love writing, the research phase, the hours reading an obscure book, the rabbit hole of journal articles and business reports, the careful planning, execution and editing of papers.
