The Art of Doing Nothing — A Lesson from My 7 Cats
I have 7 cats.
4 girls. 3 boys.
And there’s one thing I have noticed about all the girls:
They do nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
They just eat… get a little jealous of each other… and then go right back to doing nothing.
No guilt. No rush. No second-guessing.
And honestly? I envy that.
Because I can’t remember the last time I allowed myself that kind of rest —
simple, guilt-free stillness.
No phone.
No social media.
No food prep.
No meetings.
No multitasking disguised as “relaxation.”
Just… me. As I am. Doing nothing.
If I could design the perfect day for myself right now, it would start like this:
Waking up in soft cotton clothes.
Making a warm cup of ginger tea.
Sitting on my balcony in Kerala.
Fan on.
Watching the plants, trees, and flowers take a gentle shower in the monsoon rain.
No agenda.
No chase.
No noise.
Just peace.
