What Is the True Purpose of Your Life?
Seeking answers to life’s most profound question
This question first hit me while cramming chemical reactions for my ninth-grade chemistry exam. I remember thinking, surely, this isn’t what I’m meant to be doing.
I couldn’t help but wonder: Why was I doing this? What was the purpose of my life?
At that time, I thought my purpose was simple — complete my education and build a respectable career. Time passed, and I did just that. I earned my engineering degree, joined a top IT company in India, travelled internationally, and steadily climbed the professional ladder.
Yet, that question never stopped haunting me. Was this all there was to life? While my career was important for making a living and gaining experience, it didn’t feel like the ultimate purpose.
When my daughter was born, parenting took over my life. Days and nights blurred together as I juggled the endless demands of raising a child. It became my most demanding and rewarding responsibility. Managing a team of 20 engineers suddenly felt easy in comparison!
