Watching the Snow Melt
Mid-January 2025 KTHT Writing Prompts
I live in Scotland on an island. Which works for me, particularly in January because I usually feel like I want to hibernate.
The month is one of reflection. Offering hope for the future, wrapped in the crinkled paper of the past. It’s a bittersweet in-between — wanting to close the chapter on last year while lingering on the threshold, not yet ready to open a new book.
I have three new prompts for you all to add to those here that Diana shared at the beginning of the month.
- What I Thought Would Last Forever
Revisit a relationship or event from your younger years that you thought would never change. What happened and how did you feel as it evolved or faded over time?
- The Weight and Warmth of a Winter Coat
Reflect on the physical and emotional weight of winter past. Explore memories associated with that time or those that a particular piece of clothing — like a coat — evokes for you.
