Pandora’s Box of Me

NYX

When asked what I’d name a book if I were its main character, Nyx slipped out of me before I could even think.
And just like the night she’s named after, she carried with her a world of unspoken meaning, waiting to unfold.

Nikhil, someone I met on this platform, wrote an article with the question: “If you were to write a book with yourself as the main character, what would you name it?” I felt giddy and typed Nyx without hesitation.

The next morning, I saw his reply—“What does it mean?”—and I smiled. I hadn’t realized I’d almost written an entire article just trying to explain it. Because Nyx isn’t just a name. She’s a feeling. A truth. A mirror. Of me.

If I were to write a book with me at the center, I’d name it Nyx, after the Greek goddess of the night, my personal favorite. She’s not loud or forceful, yet her presence shifts the air. She embodies mystery, depth, and silent power. She’s not the darkness itself, but the sanctuary within it. The space where we heal, confront, and transform.

This book wouldn’t just tell my story, it would reveal who I became in the quiet places no one else could see. It would trace the invisible threads of growth, the sacredness of solitude, and the quiet strength born in silence.
